My approach to therapy
The basis of my approach to therapy is relational, meaning that I believe that the trusting relationship we build together is what will create the most healing and growth for you. On top of that I work integratively, drawing on different approaches to therapy, depending on what feels right with each client. My training focused on person-centred, psychodynamic and gestalt approaches to therapy, but I engage in regular training and development to widen what I can offer to clients.
Person-Centred - creating a supportive, understanding, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace
Psychodynamic - helps you explore how past experiences, unconscious thoughts, and unresolved emotions shape your current behaviour
Gestalt - helps you become more aware of yourself in the present moment, encouraging you to explore past issues that affect you now, often using creative ‘experiments’
