Getting started
Beginning therapy can feel like a big step and I know how hard and vulnerable it can be to open up to a stranger about our most personal thoughts and feelings, so I meet any questions openly and warmly, with no judgment. Everything and anything is welcome.
-
I offer a free twenty-minute introductory phone call, this is a good chance for you to see if I’m a good fit for you and to ask any questions you might have. You can then make the choice whether you want to begin therapy with me and we will book a time to meet.
-
The therapy will be lead by you, but it’s also a collaboration between us, so I will listen, ask questions, offer reflections, observations or other perspectives and gently challenge. We will talk about whatever feels right for you, however big or small, any topic you want to bring to therapy is welcome. We can think about (and sit with) your emotions, what you want to get out of therapy, the patterns you might find yourself in, we can make meaning of your past experiences and we can explore your identity. I may also suggest ways to connect with your body, offer psychoeducation or suggest creative and grounding techniques. I really value your input and how you feel therapy is progressing, we can work on this together at any stage.
-
Therapy can last as long you want it to, I work both short-term and open-ended, either way we will regularly review how things are going. Endings are also really important, so no matter how long we see each other I’ll try to make sure we end in a satisfying way for you. There is never any obligation to continue, in fact leaving therapy when you’re ready, for whatever reason, can be a very empowering choice.
-
We will meet every week for 50 minutes, either online or in person, whichever feels right to you.
I currently have sessions available on a Wednesday morning.
-
I charge a rate of £55 per session. However, if money is a barrier, we can discuss a discounted rate.
-
I welcome people from all backgrounds, life stages, cultures, genders, sexual orientations, neurotypes and identities. Therapy should ideally be for everyone, and I strive to make it accessible and inclusive, creating a space where you can feel safe, affirmed, and understood.
I work with people who are; struggling with anxiety, depression, bereavement or traumatic experiences, feeling stuck, lacking motivation, self-acceptance or self-compassion, exploring their identity, are questioning their lives or their world or want to understand themselves better.
